Top 5 Family-Friendly Things to Do During Spring Break

Headed to San Diego for family vacation during spring break? San Diego is a perfect family-friendly destination filled with memorable places to explore. Not only is the weather incredible, but there are tons of attractions that you’re whole family will enjoy. Here’s Top 5 Family-Friendly activities to do this Spring Break.

1.San Diego Bay Tours

Popular San Diego attractions sit right on the San Diego Bay. Those popular sites include San Diego Convention Center, Seaport Village, Cruise Ship Terminal, USS Midway, Maritime Museum, Coronado and the Naval Air Station! While you are able to walk to these sights, one of the best ways to see these attractions on the water. San Diego Speed Boat Adventure Tours allows you to drive your own mini speed boat as part of a narrated group bay tour. You and your family can experience San Diego Bay and all it’s beauty in your own speed boat. Definitely a must do when visiting San Diego.

2. San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo has the reputation of being one of the best zoos in the world and it’s perfect for all ages. Conquering the whole zoo in one day is no easy feat. I recommend making a plan with the family to prioritize what attractions and animals you want to see. Grab lunch at one of the cafes around the park or pack your own lunch! If you and your family get tired of walking around you can hop on the guided bus tour or the skyfari for an additional fee. Play areas, petting zoo, 4-D theaters and shows are scattered all around the park to cool off and relax!

3.Cabrillo National Monument

This is by far the best place to experience a panoramic view of all of San Diego. Here you can discover the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, Low Tide in the tide pools, and learn the history and discoveries of Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo. The Cabrillo monument is located next to the educational theater, museum, and store. Trails from the monument connect to the Old Point Loma Lighthouse! You can climb the tiny staircase and look inside the lighthouse. To reach the tide pools you will need to drive your car down to the bottom of the hill. A $15 entrance fee that’s good for the following 6 days gets you into see all of these must see attractions.

4.Balboa Park

Balboa Park is home to 17 museums, beautiful gardens, art venues, trails, and other recreational attractions including the San Diego Zoo! Perfect to walk around and check out the Spanish Renaissance inspired architecture. Easy to pack a lunch and sit around the fountain or eat at one of the restaurants located at the park. If the kiddos are tired of walking around so much, check out GoCar Tours! GoCar runs a great affordable 2 hour tour through Downtown and Balboa. The storytelling car will take you right into the park and tell you about all the popular attractions. You can even park the GoCar and resume the tour when you finish walking around.

5. SeaWorld & LEGOLAND

SeaWorld offers close-up experiences with animals, educational experiences and roller coasters!! LEGOLAND is a short drive up north to Carlsbad. LEGOLAND California has tons of fun for the whole family. With more than 60 rides, shows and attractions. Additional fee for entrance into the SeaLife Aquarium and the Water Park. Both of these theme parks are perfect for the family when visiting San Diego.
