Coming September 2017, San Diego will play host to the inaugural World Beach Games. The Association of National Olympic Committees awarded San Diego the right to host the event, which includes a $150 million budget. This olympic-style, 10 day event will take place on Mission Beach and feature over 20 different sports, including volleyball, surfing, jet-skiing, paragliding, and soccer. This anticipated event is expected to draw in over 200 different nations from around the world. Other cities that expressed interest in hosting the event include Dubai, Barcelona, and Sochi, Russia. Needless to say, this is a huge opportunity for the world to see San Diego as the amazing and beautiful city that it is!
